Welcome to the virtual DPG-Frühjahrstagung (DPG Spring Meeting) in "Heidelberg"
From 21 March to 25 March 2022 the virtual DPG Spring Meeting of the Matter and Cosmos Section (SMuK) will take place.
Dear conference participants,
The course of the Corona pandemic continues to affect the organisation of the DPG Spring Meetings: face-to-face meetings cannot be reliably planned at present and holding them on the basis of the currently valid Corona regulations would not be possible or only possible to a very limited extent. Against this background, a return to the usual conference format in spring 2022 is still not conceivable.
In consultation with the DPG committees, all participating DPG divisions and working groups as well as the local organising committee, it was decided to hold the DPG Spring Meeting 2022 in Heidelberg not as a face-to-face meeting, but as an online conference with the following divisions and working groups:
- Matter and Cosmos Section (SMuK)
- Extraterrestrial Physics
- Gravitation and Relativity
- Radiation and Medical Physics
- Particle Physics
- Theoretical and Mathematical Physics
- Physics Education
- History of Physics
- Working Group on Physics, Modern IT and Artificial Intelligence
- Working Group on Philosophy of Physics
As the local conference team, we are very sorry not to be able to welcome you in Heidelberg. However, we hope to provide the framework for a good and successful online conference.
Due to the changed boundary conditions, the deadline for abstract submission is extended until 15 January 2022.
We are aware that this is no substitute for a "real" DPG Spring Meeting in person. At least, we have experienced in the past year and a half what kind of possibilities digital communication can offer.
We look forward to lively participation and exchange under what are still unusual conditions!
